The Central Cougars Youth Football program is designed to develop young athletes through skill development, teamwork, discipline, and competitive play.
Our teams compete in the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference (MKAC) while representing Bullitt Central with pride.

Young athletes begin learning the fundamentals of football including proper technique, teamwork, and the basics of offensive and defensive play.

Players continue developing football skills while learning more advanced concepts and building confidence on the field.

Athletes compete at a higher level while strengthening their football IQ and preparing for the transition to middle school and high school football.
Our football season begins with pre-season conditioning to help athletes prepare for the upcoming season. Conditioning focuses on building strength, improving agility, and developing proper football fundamentals in a fun and supportive environment.
Sessions are held twice per week starting May 5th:
Tuesdays & Thursdays
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
This phase allows players to get comfortable with coaches, build teamwork, and safely prepare their bodies before full practices begin.
Each summer the KHSAA Dead Period requires a break from team activities. During this time there will be no organized practices or team workouts.
Dead Period Dates:
June 25 – July 9
This break allows athletes and families time to rest, travel, and reset before the start of the official football season.
After the dead period concludes, teams will transition into full football practices where athletes begin preparing for the upcoming game season.
Practices will be held:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays:
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
These practices focus on team development, game strategy, position skills, and preparing athletes for weekly competition throughout the season.
The regular football season begins around the date of 09/12.
Games are typically played on Saturdays as part of the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference, with teams competing against programs from surrounding communities.
**Game schedules will be released prior to the start of the season so families can plan accordingly.
At the conclusion of the regular season, teams participate in the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament. Teams are placed into brackets based on their regular season performance and compete for a conference championship.
This tournament gives every athlete the opportunity to finish the season competing in meaningful games.

BCYFCA provides athletes with high-quality game equipment and official uniforms to ensure players are prepared for the season.
Our goal is to make sure every athlete has the equipment needed to safely compete and represent the Central Cougars with pride.
At BCYFCA, our coaches are committed to creating a positive environment where athletes can learn the game of football while developing character, discipline, and teamwork. Our focus is on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and helping every player grow both on and off the field.
Our coaches focus on teaching proper football fundamentals including blocking, tackling, positioning, and football IQ. We emphasize skill development at every level to help athletes build a strong foundation for future football success.
Every player is encouraged to improve, compete, and gain confidence in their abilities.
Football is the ultimate team sport, and our program teaches athletes the importance of teamwork, communication, and supporting one another. Players learn leadership, accountability, and how to work together toward a common goal.
These lessons extend beyond the field and help athletes grow as individuals.
Our coaches strive to create a positive and structured environment where athletes can enjoy the game while competing at a high level. We believe youth sports should be fun, challenging, and rewarding for every player involved.
Our goal is to help athletes develop a love for the game while preparing them for the next level of football.

BCYFCA Football practices and home games take place at Bullitt Central High School, the home of the Central Cougars. Athletes train and compete using the school’s football facilities, providing a true game-day environment while building pride in the Cougar program.
Games are played as part of the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference, which includes teams from several surrounding communities. While many games will be played at Bullitt Central, teams will also travel to compete against other programs within the conference.
Away games are hosted by other member organizations and may require travel to nearby communities, with some locations up to approximately one hour away from Shepherdsville.
**Practice locations, field assignments, and the full game schedule will be communicated to families prior to the start of the season.
