Equipment & Uniforms

BCYFCA provides athletes with high-quality game equipment and official uniforms to ensure players are prepared for the season.

Our goal is to make sure every athlete has the equipment needed to safely compete and represent the Central Cougars with pride.

Our Coaching Philosophy 🐾

At BCYFCA, our coaches are committed to creating a positive environment where athletes can learn the game of football while developing character, discipline, and teamwork. Our focus is on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and helping every player grow both on and off the field.

🏈 Player Development

Our coaches focus on teaching proper football fundamentals including blocking, tackling, positioning, and football IQ. We emphasize skill development at every level to help athletes build a strong foundation for future football success.

Every player is encouraged to improve, compete, and gain confidence in their abilities.

🀝🏼 Teamwork & Leadership

Football is the ultimate team sport, and our program teaches athletes the importance of teamwork, communication, and supporting one another. Players learn leadership, accountability, and how to work together toward a common goal.

These lessons extend beyond the field and help athletes grow as individuals.

πŸ”₯ Positive & Competitive Environment

Our coaches strive to create a positive and structured environment where athletes can enjoy the game while competing at a high level. We believe youth sports should be fun, challenging, and rewarding for every player involved.

Our goal is to help athletes develop a love for the game while preparing them for the next level of football.

Home Game Location

BCYFCA Football practices and home games take place at Bullitt Central High School, the home of the Central Cougars. Athletes train and compete using the school’s football facilities, providing a true game-day environment while building pride in the Cougar program.

Games are played as part of the Mid-Kentucky Athletic Conference, which includes teams from several surrounding communities. While many games will be played at Bullitt Central, teams will also travel to compete against other programs within the conference.

Away games are hosted by other member organizations and may require travel to nearby communities, with some locations up to approximately one hour away from Shepherdsville.

PLEASE NOTE:

**Practice locations, field assignments, and the full game schedule will be communicated to families prior to the start of the season.

Yes! Beginning in 2027, BCYFCA offers Flag Football for Pre-K and Kindergarten athletes.

Flag Football gives our youngest athletes an opportunity to learn football fundamentals, teamwork, confidence, and the basics of the game in a fun environment before moving into tackle football.

2027 pre-registration is now open for BCYFCA Flag Football and Tackle Football.

Families can visit our 2027 Pre-Registration page and select the appropriate football program.

Pre-registration helps BCYFCA plan for teams, coaches, equipment, and the upcoming season while keeping your family informed as additional 2027 information is released.

No. Pre-registration does not require payment.

Pre-registration lets BCYFCA know that your athlete is interested in participating in the 2027 season and allows us to keep your family updated when official registration, pricing, schedules, camps, workouts, and other season information becomes available.

Official dates for the 2027 BCYFCA football season will be announced once the schedule is finalized.

Information regarding conditioning, practices, official registration, games, and other important dates will be communicated to families as it becomes available.

BCYFCA practice locations for the 2027 youth football season will be announced once finalized.

Families will receive the official practice location, days, and times before the season begins.

Any changes throughout the season will be communicated through official BCYFCA communication channels.

BCYFCA youth football games are generally played on Saturdays during the season.

The complete 2027 schedule, including opponents, game times, home games, and away-game locations, will be provided once finalized.

Practice schedules vary depending on the time of year and football division.

Exact 2027 practice days and times will be announced before the season.

Practices focus on football fundamentals, position development, conditioning, teamwork, discipline, and preparing athletes for competition.

BCYFCA will provide families with a complete list of provided and required tackle football equipment before the 2027 season.

Equipment information may change from season to season, so families should wait for the official 2027 equipment list before purchasing major football equipment.

Flag Football requires significantly less equipment than tackle football.

BCYFCA will provide parents with an official 2027 Flag Football equipment list before practices begin, including information about uniforms, flag belts, footwear, mouthguards, and any other required items.

BCYFCA believes one of the best ways for athletes to improve is to play strong competition.

Our tackle football program emphasizes fundamentals, discipline, teamwork, physical development, accountability, and competitive football.

Winning matters, but developing athletes and preparing them for the future of Bullitt Central football is the bigger goal.

Postseason opportunities depend on the league and competition format for the 2027 season.

Information regarding playoffs, championships, postseason games, and qualification requirements will be provided once the 2027 league format and schedule are finalized.

BCYFCA communicates important information through the BAND app, official BCYFCA social media pages, and direct communication from coaches and organization leadership.

Families should keep their contact information current and regularly check BCYFCA communication channels for registration information, practices, games, weather updates, schedule changes, and organization announcements.

BCYFCA is building the future of Bullitt Central football.

Our goal is bigger than one season or one scoreboard.

We want Central athletes learning the game together, developing strong fundamentals, competing against quality programs, and building discipline, confidence, teamwork, accountability, and character.

From Pre-K Flag Football through 6th Grade Tackle Football, we're creating a pathway for young athletes in the Bullitt Central feeder system to learn, develop, compete, and grow together.

Same community. Bigger futures. 🐾🏈
